Woman sentenced for punching cashier

Batavia, N.Y. -- A woman charged with punching a cashier at the Batavia Walmart more than two years ago has been sentenced.

Jaquetta Simmons was sentenced to one year in county jail.

Simmons had originally been sentenced to five years in jail, but a State Supreme Court judge ruled that sentence was "unduly harsh."

Her attorney is appealing the restitution for the victims' medical costs.

The judge also had an order of protection issued for the victim for nine years.
