One fewer test for NY students in grades 7, 8

New York - Some seventh and eighth grade math students in New York will have one fewer test to take this year.

The U.S. Department of Education has granted a waiver so advanced students in New York State taking the Regents Exam can skip the General Assessment test.

The decision affects nearly 60,000 students starting in the spring.
