Brockport college student dies of natural causes

Brockport, N.Y. - A student at the College at Brockport has died Tuesday, according to the college.

Caitlin Clancy, 18, of Slingerlands outside of Albany, was a freshman at the college.

The college said Clancy appears to have died from natural causes.

The following email was sent out to students and staff at the College at Brockport Tuesday:

To the Faculty, Staff and Students at the College at Brockport:

It is with deep regret that I share the news that student Caitlin Clancy, 18, passed away earlier today. Caitlin, a native of Slingerlands, NY, was a freshman resident of McFarlane Hall and a member of the Nursing Intent Living Learning Community. At this time it appears that Caitlin passed away from natural causes. In talking with her parents, they shared that Caitlin had such a deep affection for the College and at semester break had talked enthusiastically about the wonderful educational experience she was having here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Caitlin.

Campus counseling services continue to be available to students, faculty, and staff. The Counseling Center can be reached at 585-395-2207.
