Reed and former law office investigated

Corning, N.Y. -- A congressman representing part of Western New York is coming under scrutiny, accused of possibly breaking ethics rules regarding the name of his former law firm.

The Buffalo News obtained documents showing Congressman Tom Reeds former law office in Corning continued to operate under his name.

Congressional rules restrict firms from doing so while the person is in office.

Reed (R-N.Y. 23rd) has not practiced with the firm since being elected to Congress in 2010. His Congressional office insists he has done nothing wrong.
