Drug bust nets three after year-long investigation

Medina, N.Y. -- Three Orleans County residents face charges after a year-long investigation, and the seizure of cocaine and various other drugs.

The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force led the investigation at two Church Street locations, and the Biz Nest on Main Street in Medina. They also searched a vehicle on West Avenue in Albion.

Investigators seized more than 3 ounces of cocaine, 2 pounds of marijuana, a quantity of heroin, ecstasy pills, prescription narcotic pills, bath salts, a designer drug, over $3,000.00 in cash, a semi-automatic rifle, scales, packaging and other drug paraphernalia.

At the Biz Nest, police seized more than 1,000 pirated DVD movies which were being sold from the store, as well as counterfeit clothing and merchandise.

Police arrested Brenton O. Poole, 28, and Erika Poole, 34, of Medina, and charged them each with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of marijuana.

Norman Bloom, Jr., 26, was arraigned in Albion and committed to the Orleans County Jail on $5,000.00 cash bail. He was already on parole with the New York State Department of Corrections and is being held on a parole detainer as well.

Brenton and Erika Poole were arraigned in Albion and committed to the Orleans County Jail on $75,000.00 cash bail or bond. They are to return back to court Feb. 19.

This investigation is still ongoing and further charges and arrests are pending.
