Warren reacts to deputy mayor's DWI
Rochester, N.Y. -- Mayor Lovely Warren had little to say at Thursdays City Council meeting about Deputy Mayor Leonard Redons arrest for driving while intoxicated.
State police said Redon, 62, was pulled over on Interstate 490 in the city for speeding around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, when they found him with a blood-alcohol content of .13.
Redon said his diabetes may have intensified the effects of alcohol. Warren said no one should be driving with alcohol in their system regardless.
No one should drink and drive. I stand by that, and thats the law, Warren said. The deputy mayor has gone home to reflect and to meet with his doctor, and theres no additional information at this particular time.
Redon offered his resignation the mayor Thursday, but she did not accept it. Warren said Redon is now taking several personal days.
