Apple, Comcast in talks about streaming TV

New York - Apple is in talks with Comcast about a joint streaming television service using an Apple set-top box, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The arrangement would have Comcast provide special treatment on its cable system to ensure the video data would get around web congestion.

The talks are still in early stages with lots of hurdles to be crossed before an agreement could be reached, the Journal said.

If the deal goes through, it would be a new level of cooperation between technology and cable TV giants.
