Police arrest purse-snatching suspects

Irondequoit, N.Y. -- Police arrested two purse-snatching suspects, after a victim was able to get the suspect's license plate number.

Police said Angelo Lucchese, 20, and Matthew Carrozo, 22, teamed up for the snatching at the Wegmans on East Ridge Road.

On Monday, a woman said she was placing her groceries in the car when a younger man approached her. She said he grabbed her purse from the shopping cart, and then ran to an awaiting vehicle.

The victim gave a description and plate number for the vehicle that the purse-snatcher got into.

After an investigation, police arrested the duo later that night, and said Carrozo was the one who stole the purse, and Lucchese was the getaway car driver.

They were taken to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $3,500 cash or $7,000 bond.
