Irondequoit fire marshal, engineer inspect Medley Centre

Irondequoit, N.Y. - An engineer and the fire marshal for the town of Irondequoit toured Medley Centre Wednesday morning to inspect for code violations. A mall official was also on the tour.

Irondequoit town officials tell 13WHAM News the group was inside the mall for about an hour and a half.

Officials said the fire marshal will send a letter to the mall owners later Wednesday describing the next steps they need to take in order to correct the violations.

Some of those include having combustible materials and updating the fire suppression system.

The violations were brought to the attention of Bersin Properties, LLC., the owners of the embattled Medley Centre. Bersin has been in the process of fixing the violations.

Centre partner Jim Giuliano told 13WHAM News that the violations were corrected and they are cooperating with town.

The town still says they will take the owners to court April 8, for not correcting violations sooner.

Giuliano says they will try to get that court date pushed back.

We expect to get a copy of the inspection Thursday.
