Young entrepreneurs pitch business ideas

Rochester, N.Y. -- Local students hoping to get an early start in the business world were able to pitch their ideas to business men and women Wednesday night at the University of Rochester.

The students, aged 11 to 18, unveiled their plans for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

Business models included a greeting card company and a company that buys and re-sells Indian Pashmina shawls.

Sara Bukowiec with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy said it gives students the opportunity to learn how to start their own company and take charge of their future at a young age.

The young entrepreneurs that win will go on to compete in a national competition and have an opportunity to make their pitch to investors on ABC's "Shark Tank."
