12 displaced by city fires

Rochester, N.Y. -- A dozen people are out of their homes Wednesday morning after two separate fires within minutes of each other Tuesday evening.

The first happened just after 5 p.m. on Kingston Street. Firefighters said a candle tipped over in a second-floor bedroom. No one was hurt, but seven people were displaced.

About 7 minutes later, firefighters responded to a home on Eddy Street. Crews knocked down the fire within 15 minutes. Five people escaped and got help from the Red Cross. That fire also appeared to be accidental.
