Forecasters predict quiet hurricane season

Fort Collins, Colo. - Forecasters at the Colorado State University predict a quiet 2014 Atlantic hurricane season.

They expect nine tropical storms to form, but only three will become hurricanes.

Forecasters hope to have better luck with their predictions this year than in previous years.

In 2012, twice as many hurricanes formed than expected.

In 2013, only two hurricanes formed when nine were predicted.
