Irondequoit to break ground on library

Irondequoit, N.Y. -- Town and state leaders will help break ground on a new centralized library in Irondequoit Wednesday.

Voters overwhelmingly approved a plan in December to borrow $13 million to build a 40,000-square-foot library, combining the towns two existing branches.

Voters previously approved the plan last April, but legal challenges later forced a second vote.

The groundbreaking ceremony was scheduled for noon Wednesday at the Irondequoit Town Hall on Titus Avenue. No potential opening date for the new library has been set.
