Rochester, N.Y. - A man was rescued from the Genesee River by Rochester firefighters around 8 a.m. Sunday.

The man, who has not been identified, was found near the Sister Cities Bridge holding on to the west side wall with his head above water.

The man allegedly fell into the river near the Main Street Bridge and was carried by the current, investigators said.

A firefighter went into the water and brought the man up a ladder. The victim was then taken to the hospital.
