2 arrested in Oswego heroin investigation

Oswego, N.Y. Two SUNY Oswego students were hospitalized and one died following alleged heroin overdoses last weekend. This week, the Oswego City Police Department has arrested two men in relation to the incident.

According to police, Brian Tumolo, 21, of Manorville, and Gabriel Gonzalez, 22, of Bridgeport Conn., were both arrested after an investigation led police to believe that Tumolo was the source of the heroin that caused the alleged overdoses.

According to investigators, Tumolo sold heroin to the two people who were hospitalized, one of whom was Gonzalez, police said.

Gonzalez sold some of the heroin he bought from Tumolo to the student who eventually died from what is believed to be a heroin overdose, according to investigators.

According to police, both Tumolo and Gonzalez have been charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance. Tumolo was arraigned in Oswego City Court. Gonzalez is being held pending his arraignment in the same court.
