RPD holding meeting on patrol changes

Rochester, N.Y. -- City residents will have a chance to share their thoughts on plans to reorganize the Rochester Police Department at a meeting Thursday.

City leaders are seeking input on a plan to change the current east-west patrol format to a five-section system. They said the move will help prevent crime and help officers connect better with the people they protect.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Thursday at the RPD Patrol East Division Office on North Clinton Avenue.

Two more meetings are scheduled for next week.
