RPD holding meeting on patrol changes

Rochester, N.Y. -- City residents will get to weigh in on planned changes to the Rochester Police Department Tuesday night.

A public meeting is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Building auditorium on Exchange Boulevard to discuss a proposal that would reorganize patrols into five divisions, instead of the current east-west arrangement.

Supporters have said the change would help officers better connect with neighbors and reduce crime.

The final public meeting is scheduled for Thursday night at the Aquinas Institute.
