Nguyen could take plea deal Friday

Rochester, N.Y. -- The woman convicted of buying the guns used in the 2012 Christmas Eve ambush in Webster could learn if she will serve time in federal prison Friday.

Dawn Nguyen is expected to take a plea deal in federal court. Details of the agreement were being worked out this week and have not yet been released.

She was sentenced Monday to one to four years in state prison for lying on forms to buy guns used by William Spengler in the deadly ambush.

Nguyen faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted at trial.
