Whittemore testimony expected to begin
Rochester, N.Y. -- Testimony is expected to begin Thursday in the murder trial of the man accused of killing his girlfriend at the College at Brockport in 2012.
Clayton Whittemore, now 22, is accused of beating Alexandra Kogut, then 18, to death using his fists, a broken mug and a curling iron the night of Sept. 29, 2012.
Officers who discovered Alexandra Koguts body in her dorm room in were expected to be among those taking the stand.
Whittemores attorneys claim he was suffering from extreme emotional distress at the time of Koguts death, a defense which could reduce his sentence if convicted.
