Local agencies splitting state grant

Rochester, N.Y. -- Local police agencies will be getting help to fight shootings and homicides in the area.

The Rochester Police Department, the Monroe County Sheriffs Office and the county District Attorneys Office will share a $1.6 million grant through New York states Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE).

The state said it will give out more than $13 million to areas with high violent crime rates.
