STORM AFTERMATH: More rain and damage in Penn Yan

Penn Yan, N.Y. -- Its a normal Friday on Main Street in Penn Yan but if you look down a few side streets you start to realize how destructive flood waters have been.

Parking lots off East Elm still look like a battle zone.

Cynthia Rose was overwhelmed with the sight of her apartment.

Rose stayed in Irondequoit with her sister. Friday was the first time shes seen of her apartment since being evacuated Wednesday night.

A few days ago, I was praying for a new vehicle, a new place, so I could move closer to work then boom, continued Rose.

During a meeting earlier, businesses and homeowners gathered with village leaders to get the wheels in motion to get federal help from FEMA. They are still assessing the total damage but plan to submit an application soon.
