McQuaid crew team rows for hope

Rochester, N.Y. - The McQuaid Jesuit High School crew team is once again raising money for cancer patients.

The group of boys is rowing the full distance of the Erie Canal, 340 miles, over a week.

They started in Buffalo on Monday and reached the canal locks in Pittsford on Tuesday morning.

So far, the team has raised $35,000 for the Hope Lodge, a house that supports families dealing with cancer.

"What's really impressive is McQuaid's motto teaches boys to be men for others and they are really living out that call," said John Curtis, a parent of one of the boys.

The crew team will finish up their trip in Albany next Monday.
