Man charged for throwing, injuring infant

Bath, N.Y. -- A Bath man is facing child abuse charges, accused of causing serious injury to an infant.

Stephen Hoose, 33, was arrested and charged with Reckless Assault of a Child and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police say Hoose threw the infant into a chair, causing the infant's head to hit the wall.

The baby suffered a fractured skull, a subdural hematoma and retinal hemorrhaging.

The baby is not Hoose's biological child.

Hoose was arraigned in court in the Village of Bath and released.  He is scheduled to be back in court June 16th.
