I've only lived in Pittsford for 2 years, moving up from the Virginia Beach  area in VA and never realized that this beautiful farm was right around the corner from where I lived.  I happened to stumble upon it when taking a different route on my regular morning walk through my neighborhood.
  As I was heading west bound on Willard Rd from Mendon Center Rd, I could see a brilliant splash of orange color up ahead. As I got closer, I saw the most picturesque sight...a real feast for the eyes...a lovely farmhouse,  barn, fields and fruit and vegetable stand called Willard Farms.  The sign itself along the side of the road advertising pumpkins,  squash, gourds,  apples and peaches for sale was so inviting, but the pumpkins and  Halloween characters displayed on an old wagon, fronted by the farmhouse and barn compelled me to stop and take a picture. I was so excited to post it later on Facebook for all my beach friends to see.

The next morning, I took the same route and as I approached the farmhouse,  was greeted  by  a friendly  black lab named Poochi...the Willard family dog and met the owner,  Paula Willard.  It only took a few seconds for me in speaking to her  to realize what a passion she has for farming.  It is so evident in the time she spent creating the beautiful autumn display in front of the old farmhouse for passers by and costumers to enjoy.
I hope many of you will take a drive out to Willard Farms for your pumpkins this year....you'll be glad you did!
