Come see the colors of Fall by trolley and train!
Electric trolley cars were once a routine part of our area’s transportation, connecting Rochester with Syracuse, Buffalo, Geneva, and local towns along the way, and the “little red caboose” has been missing on our nation’s freight trains for a generation. The Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum and New York Museum of Transportation have brought this history to life on their shared railroad. The trolley ride is the only one in the state!
On Sundays only, from September 16th until November 4th, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of autumn in western New York State from the window of an authentic 80-year-old electric trolley car. A diesel locomotive with two cabooses will meet the trolley each day for the continuation to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. Trolleys depart every half-hour starting at 11:30.
All tours begin at the New York Museum of Transportation, 6393 East River Road, Rush, N.Y., where visitors will board an authentic electric trolley car that will meet all diesel trains. One admission is good for entry to both museums! Admission is $8 for Adults (15 and over), $7 for Seniors (65+), $3 for Children (3-15).
