The Penfield Business Association (PBA) is hosting its 2nd annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Shepherd Home on Monday July 16 at Penfield Country Club. Last year 114 golfers participated, raising over $10,000 for the Shepherd Home. The PBA is planning this year’s event to be even bigger and is looking for golfers and sponsors interested in participating.
Title Sponsor for this year’s event is Family First Credit Union. The tournament includes a full day of activities: a four-man scramble, longest drive contest, closest-to-the-pin contest, an all-you-can-eat buffet lunch, evening dinner, door prizes and gift bags.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place teams, closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, and putting competitions.
Golf openings, dinner seats, sponsorships and advertising are still available. If you cannot attend the event, consider sponsoring an activity or placing an ad in the event program.
Tournament coordinator Jeff Chapman is very excited about this year’s event. “While last year’s tournament was a success, we believe this year’s event will be an even bigger draw for golf enthusiasts in the area. Penfield Country Club provides a challenging, beautiful course and an outstanding venue for lunch and dinner. What better way to spend a day than golfing with friends, meeting new people and raising money for such a worth-while cause as the Shepherd Home.”
The Shepherd Home, a 2-bed comfort care home for the terminally ill in Penfield, provides comfort and compassionate care to members of the community with a terminal illness in a way that cherishes the dignity of each individual and meets his or her physical, emotional and spiritual needs. They provide support to the resident’s families and friends, and foster community acceptance that dying is an integral part of living. Shepherd Home has cared for over 150 individuals since its doors opened in November of 2005.
