John Sullivan of Le Roy sends this picture of his 1991 Saab 9000 with 374,468 miles on it… “This car was purchased new from the then-Saab Dealer, Country Motors in Oakfield, NY. (They have since closed.) I used a portion of my inheritance from my father’s estate to provide the down payment. As I wanted a particular color, which was not in stock, delivery was delayed. As it so happens when the car came in, I took delivery of it on April 30, 1991, which would have been my father’s 81st birthday. I took that as a good sign and as such have developed a sort of emotional bond with the vehicle... While mechanically sound, it still gets 25 MPG +, but the area’s harsh conditions have taken it toll on the body. The ‘body cancer’ is irreversible at this point, so I am delaying the inevitable disposal of the vehicle by use of DTT. (Duct Tape Technology) I believe that I should be able to prolong the vehicle’s life by a few more years. (Hopefully for as long as they make duct tape.)”
